WEN Hair Care Complete Set | Wen Hair Products | Wen Haircare

WEN Hair Care Productswww.wenhaircare.com | Wen Hair Product | Wen Hair Product Review | Wen Hair Care | Reviews of Wen Hair Care

LOVE THIS HAIR CARE PRODUCT!

Usually I'm disappointed with infomercial products...every try "Takara" foot patches? Don't. Wen is the exception. I can't believe somebody didn't come up with this sooner. Pricey for shampoo...but it isn't even in the same category as any of that lathering stuff...it's worth it. BuY it on Amazon...I got my order in 2 days...I ordered the "introductory offer" from the Chaz Dean website and it arrived 4 weeks later. This is a great way to try all the "flavors"!

Good Hair Care Product

This product is great overall. The mint frangraces are a little strong for me. The results are what is advertised. I think its a product for someone with dry to extremly dry hair. I can see where a person with oily hair may not like this product because its all about the mositurizing. After only one week of use, I have notice a difference and so have other people, in the feel and texture of my hair. Its soft, not like straw anymore. I highly recommend this product for black women who tend to have naturally dry hair.

Hair Shampooing Tips

Shampooing is essential to everyone's hair care routine, regardless of hair type or texture. You should shampoo as often as necessary to keep your hair looking clean and your scalp comfortable. This may range from shampooing daily to shampooing only once a week, depending on how oily your hair is, the level of physical exercise you indulge in, the environment, your hairstyle and any scalp problems. Those who have oily hair, exercise daily, or live or work in dirty environments may need to shampoo daily, while others need to shampoo less frequently.

The frequency of shampooing hair depends on the type of hair and scalp, and also on the environment in which you are living and on the type of work you do. Shampoo your hair twice a week in summers. If you have greasy hair, you will need to wash them frequently say twice or thrice a week. This is especially necessary, if the environment you work in is dirty. Frequent shampooing is not harmful for the hair not does it cause any hair loss. However, daily shampooing of very dry hair and overzealous manipulation cause hair breakage which may be mistaken for hair loss.

Shampoo is quite different from conditioners which attempt to increase the overall ease of handling hair. Shampoos are used to clean this dirt off from the hair. The development of science in this region has seen various ingredients being used to get better results. However many shampoos can only make the hair look brighter after use. But they make it unhealthy with the ingredients that are left behind on the hair. Therefore it becomes imperative that you choose the correct kind of shampoo for your hair.

Tips For Hair Shampooing:

1. The selection of the shampoo should depend upon the hair type.

2. Egg shampoo is good for dry hair but avoid products which contain alcohol as they will dry out the hair even further.

3. For oily hair use some mild shampoo.

4. Do not scrub or over massage.

5. It is better to rinse thoroughly with Luke warm water.

6. Shampooing can be done as often as required to keep the hair clean and healthy, as long as you condition regularly.

Ideal Method

1. Prepare the hair for shampooing.

2. Before wetting your hair for shampooing, comb through with a wide toothed comb to prevent tangles.

3. Mix and adjust the water flow.

4. Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly.

5. Apply the shampoo to the hair by first pouring it into your hand and never directly.

6. Massage the whole head.

7. Apply more shampoo and massage for the second time if needed, finally rinse all shampoo from the hair and scalp with clean water.

8. Finally check the hair lines and make sure that the dirt and shampoo has been removed from hair and scalp.

9. Dry the hair gently.

10. Avoid blow drying as far as possible.

Methods of shampooing:

1. Brush your hair before shampooing to get rid of dirt and dead skin from the head.

2. Wet the hair with spray, so as to saturate the underneath layer as well as the top ones with water.

3. Add shampoo in little water and mix both well.

4. Massage gently on the roots with the fingertips in circular motion covering the entire head.

5. Work the shampoo into the bulk of hair over the top layers.

6. Rinse with water until shampoo has been completely washed off.

Hair Conditioning and Shampooing Guide

Shampoo is an essential part of every hair care and beauty routine, but people differ in their approach to buying shampoo. Some people find a shampoo brand they're partial to and are lifelong customers.
Some people find a shampoo brand they're partial to and are lifelong customers. Others enjoy trying out a new shampoo every time they finish a bottle.

There is no question of conditioning agents building up on the hair if these shampoos are used repeatedly. Shampooing always removes the conditioning agents that were applied previously.

How to Shampoo your hairs:

Prepare the hair for shampooing. Before wetting your hair for shampooing, comb through with a wide toothed comb to prevent tangles. Mix and adjust the water flow. Mix the water to a comfortable temperature. Wet the hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply the shampoo to the hair by first pouring it into your hand and never directly. Apply with the hands and fingers, massage firmly in rotating and circular movements. Massage the whole head. Rinse the hair and scalp thoroughly and carefully. Apply more shampoo and massage for the second time if needed, finally rinse all shampoo from the hair and scalp with clean water. Finally check the hair lines and make sure that the dirt and shampoo has been removed from hair and scalp. Dry the hair gently. Don't rub just blot the wet hair with a towel and then smooth the towel along the length of your hair. Avoid blow drying as far as possible. If you shampoo regularly there is no need to lather twice.

How to condition your hairs:

All types of hair have to be conditioned to keep it shiny and flexible. Conditioning is specially useful for dry hair. It adds to the natural oil supply and gives dry hair, shine as well as bounce and strength. For oily hair, use conditioner only on the ends of your hair .

After shampooing gently squeeze the excess water. Comb the hair with the fingers or with wide toothed comb from the roots to the ends gently. Remove tangles. Apply little conditioner and rub the conditioner through the hair with the fingers. Never rub on the scalp. Keep it on the hair for 5 minutes. Now gently massage the hair to loosen the conditioner. Rinse the hair and remove all traces of conditioner. Now dry the hair.

Hair Loss Information and Prevention

Hair is made of a type of protein called keratin. A single hair consists of a hair shaft (the part that shows), a root below the skin, and a follicle, from which the hair root grows. Hair loss is a big worry to many people, both male and female. Hair loss also kown baldness. More than half of men and women in the United States experience hair loss. About 30% of people have hair loss by age 30 years, and about 50% have hair loss by age 50 years. Abnormal hair loss can be due to many different causes, but about 50 percent of the population experience normal hair loss by the time they reach 50.

The 50–100 hairs that everyone loses each day frequently get entangled with the remainder of the hair. There are many causes of hair departure. Hormonal problems may induce hair departure. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may slip away. Some medicines can induce hair departure. Medicines that can induce hair departure include blood thinners , medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to handle cancer, vitamin An (if overly often is taken), birth command pills and antidepressants. Certain infections can induce hair departure. Fungal infections of the scalp can induce hair departure in children.

Baldness, whether long-lasting or temporary, can't be cured. But treatments are available to help promote hair growth or hide hair exit. Minoxidil drug is approved for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. Eating a steady, vigorous diet is substantial for a lot of reasons, and it really benefits your hair. Finasteride prescription drug to manage male-pattern baldness is taken daily in pill sort. Injections of cortisone into the scalp can manage alopecia areata. Treatment is usually repeated monthly. Surgery is another method of reversing hair exit and baldness, although it may be considered an extreme measure.

Rusk For Defining & Shaping

Rusk Design Series jel fx Forming Jel Gel Sculptant, 5.3-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 3) Rusk Design Series jel fx Forming Jel Gel Sculptant, 5.3-Ounce Tubes (Pack of 3)

It IS the best
I have to agree with the previous reviewer - it's the best I have ever tried. I originally got it from my salon; used it all up and have been unhappy that in the last three months (have been there twice for haircuts), they have not re-stocked this product. They were selling it for $12/ea...this is a great deal: three for just a bit over six bucks a piece (plus s/h, of course, unless you buy enough items to get the shipping for free!!). In desperation, I bought a Suave product, thinking, "How different can they really be??" Found out that the replacement item left my hair stiff and clumpy, whereas that never happened with the Rusk jel fx. Love it!

The best gel
The best gel. I've tried them all. Just the right consistency. Good hold yet it breaks free, it doesn't flake white on my hair. It's THE best

Kerastase, Foundation for Smoothness and Shine

Kerastase, Lait Nutri Sculpt, Hair Smoother (4.2 Ounces)Kerastase, Lait Nutri Sculpt, Hair Smoother Foundation for smoothness and shine. Does not weigh hair down. A combination of nourishing and smoothing ingredients to facilitate blow-drying and enhance softness and manageability.

Reviews

My "Must Have" hair product
I'm 36 years old and have tried nearly everything to smooth my wavy, dry hair over the years. All other products have either smelled bad, performed poorly, darkened the appearance of my hair, made my hair look dirty or oily, or stopped being effective on my hair at some point. I didn't want to like this product because it is so expensive, but it is the one product I can't live without. It smooths my hair so that it doesn't look frizzy, yet still allows my hair to have some life - it doesn't weigh it down and gives my hair some definition without hold. The smell is really pleasant and doesn't smell like weird apples or a thousand chemicals. I love this stuff - just wish it were less expensive and easier to find in the salons since they only sell to high end salons (and apparently Amazon.com and Drugstore.com - though it's cheaper on Amazon).

Works great
I bought this product to try out something new aside from hair gels. And for the passed month or so, i've loved it. It doesnt make your hair flakey like a hairgel does. You can re-style without having to keep apply more. It doesnt make your hair hard but gives you the look you want. So easy to use. Plus it's very conservative, for me atleast. I'm still on my first pack of 2, cuz you dont use alot of it. smells great too, very 'manly' lol. I definetly recommend this.

Perfect for Men
This product is perfect for men. I have not been able to find this in stores lately. Great value.

Gets the job done and smells good.
All the gels and waxes that I used before this one either dried out too quickly, smelled bad, or just didn't hold up. This product has none of those qualities. Also, one container of this lasts me about 6 months. It's hard to beat that!

How to Shampoo Hair Naturally

A little "How To" - First, thoroughly saturate scalp and hair using warm or cool water (hot water tends to dry out hair and scalp). Apply a small amount of shampoo (about the size of a quarter) to palm and rub hands together to evenly distribute. Now apply shampoo to scalp with the balls of your fingers. The primary objective of shampooing is to clean your scalp, not wrestle your hair, so concentrate on massaging gently and allow suds to be distributed throughout hair while rinsing. It’s not necessary to do the "rinse and repeat" routine unless you have an oily scalp. Shampoo is a common hair care product used for the removal of oils, dirt, skin particles, dandruff, environmental pollutants and other element particles that gradually build up in hair. People expect a lot from shampoos. Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is an oil secreted by hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer. Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage, but this protection comes at a cost.

Chemistry of shampoos

People expect a lot from shampoos. Unfortunately, it is not easy to tell a good shampoo from a poor one. Cost, fragrance, and lots of foam is what most people look for in shampoo products. Lather and foam is of little importance , but they often get the most attention. Foaming occurs when surfactant molecules gather around air instead of oil. The result is millions of tiny bubbles. Obviously, the air bubbles are using the surfactants that should be removing dirt and oil. We have all seen shampoo advertisements showing happy, beautiful people taking showers with their heads heaped high with mounds of lather. These images have taught the public to associate lather with cleansing ability.

How shampoo works

Shampoo cleans by stripping sebum from the hair. Sebum is an oil secreted by hair follicles that is readily absorbed by the strands of hair, and forms a protective layer. Sebum protects the protein structure of hair from damage, but this protection comes at a cost. It tends to collect dirt, styling products and scalp flakes. Surfactants strip the sebum from the hair shafts and thereby remove the dirt attached to it.

While both soaps and shampoos contain surfactants, soap bonds to oils with such affinity that it removes too much if used on hair. Shampoo uses a different class of surfactants balanced to avoid removing too much oil from the hair.

Shampooing is frequently followed by conditioners which increase the ease of combing and styling. A transparent sweet liquid, a by-product of soapmaking. Glycerin is used in many cosmetic products. It acts as a humectant.

You have been Shampooing your hair ever since you can remember. But have you ever given a thought to the actual ‘right process’ of shampooing hair? You might think its not a big deal. All it requires is to wet your hair, apply shampoo, lather and wash.

Shampooing frequency for normal hair depends on whether hair is curly or straight. Many shampoos are pearlescent. This effect is achieved by addition of tiny flakes of suitable materials, eg. glycol distearate, chemically derived from stearic acid, which may have either animal or vegetable origins. Shampooing frequency for normal hair depends on whether hair is curly or straight. Shampoo and condition straight hair every day for a sleek, radiant look. Shampoo intended for animals may contain insecticides or other medications for treatment of skin conditions or parasite infestations such as fleas or mange. The shampoo is now finished and ready for use. Shampoo is meant to remove dirt, sebum (a.k.a. oils), and product buildup from your hair.

Shampoo Benefits for Hair

The object of shampoo is to cleanse the hair without stripping it of natural oils leaving it supple, tangle-tree, glossy and full-of-body. Choose a shampoo that is formulated to suit your hair type. Normal hair needs a balanced cleanser; dry hair needs gentle cleansing and greasy hair requires deep cleansing.

Treatment Found To Reverse Hair Loss

It is Possible Reverse Hair Loss, US Scientists Say

Going bald? Not to worry. Don’t have to go after quacks either. A team of researchers in Pennsylvania say it is possible to regenerate damaged hair follicles. And they have successfully created new hair cells in mice.

Writing in the journal Nature, they say hair growth can actually be encouraged using a single gene. The human head comes equipped with 100,000 tiny hair follicles, from each of which grows a single hair.

Male pattern hair loss (MPHL) is a condition that affects as many as 50 percent of men by the age of fifty, but according to a new study, baldness may soon be a treatable condition.

Using pairs of identical twins, the study assessed the efficacy of dutasteride, a particular enzyme inhibitor, as a means of reducing hair loss and encouraging new growth, finding it to be an effective means of combating baldness.

Hair loss usually develops gradually and may be patchy or diffuse (all over) and also called is Baldness. Hair loss is so common that most of the time it is considered a normal variation and not a disease. Baldnessinvolves the state of lacking hair where it often grows, especially on the head. Both men and women tend to lose hair thickness and amount as they age. Inherited or "pattern baldness" affects many more men than women. About 25% of men begin to bald by the time they are 30 years old, and about two-thirds are either bald or have a balding pattern by age 60. Baldness typically refers to excessive hair loss from your scalp and can be the result of heredity, certain medications or an underlying medical condition.

Some women also develop a particular pattern of hair loss due to genetics, age, and male hormones that tend to increase in women after menopause. Some medicines can cause hair loss. Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer. Women may develop female-pattern baldness. In this form of hair loss, the hair can become thin over the entire scalp.Hair transplants performed by a physician is a surgical approach to transferring growing hair from one part of the head to another. Poor eating can contribute to hair loss. Eating a balanced, healthy diet is important for a lot of reasons, and it really benefits your hair.

Antiandrogens block DHT already produced and present in the blood stream from binding with hair follicles. Wear a hat. Vitamin E has a wide range of positive effects in cancer particularly vitamin E succinate. Don't rub your hair too vigorously with a towel, either. Many hair experts suggest you consider putting away the blow-dryer and air drying your hair instead. Treatment of alopecia areata may require topical or injectable steroids or ultraviolet light.Hair transplants and scalp reduction surgery are available to treat androgenetic alopecia. Castor oil treatments were sometimes alternated with slathering the scalp with aloe vera juice, olive oil, equal amounts of rosemary tea and olive oil, onion juice, or onion juice mixed with honey.

In the study, one of each pair of twins was given 0.5 mg/day of the medication, the other receiving a placebo, with the results monitored over the course of a year. After both 6 and 12-month intervals, hair loss was found to not only have been halted in twins using dutasteride, but hair growth was actively improved. The rate of growth increased between the 6 and 12-month evaluations, while hair loss continued steadily in the placebo group.

MPHL is thought to be genetically controlled. As identical twins share the same genetic code, the study provides particularly convincing evidence of the efficacy of dutasterid

Hair Loss Treatment: Use Hair Loss Products, Correct Hormonal Imbalance

So, you have a receding hairline and you are worried about it like hell? Well, let's start with a small tip- massage your scalp. There is nothing new about this age old tip. Medical science has proved that what your barber did to your head after he was through with scissoring you hair mercilessly is clearly beneficial for the growth and health of your hair. Massaging stimulates the hair follicles and unclogs blocked oil glands giving you a healthier scalp. And a healthy scalp means healthier and stronger hair.

Now that we are over with the time, it’s time that we talked about the commonest kind of baldness. This is the kind that indicates advancing age. Most of the time this kind of baldness, in both males and females, has genetic reasons, but may also be caused due to hormonal imbalance. In such cases, correcting hormonal imbalance can put a stop to hair loss.

Correcting hormonal imbalance helps prevent hair loss, during pregnancy. Shortly after child birth many women start losing hair rapidly, and then the fluctuation of hormone levels is naturally controlled and the hair growth comes back to normal. The medical inference drawn is that hormonal imbalances can cause hair loss and this kind of hair loss can be corrected by correcting the imbalance.

You may, therefore, go to a dermatologist and take his opinion on whether or not your hair loss is a result of hormonal imbalance. If, after the tests, he finds so, you may go for a treatment to cure hormonal imbalance. And if your hair loss has got nothing to do with your hormones, look for some effective hair loss product.

Forget not, all hair loss treatments would take around six months to produce any visible effects. The tall claims of checking hair loss instantly are not exactly what you should go by. Have a careful look at the ingredients of the product. Find out how it seeks to arrest hair loss and then go for it. It is advisable that you approach a dermatologist for his opinion before trying any of the products. Better still, take his opinion on the product(s) you want to try. Once you get an approval from the doctor, you can safely use it.

Hair Loss Solutions - How To Help Stop Hair Loss And Regrow Hair

Hair loss and male-pattern baldness is an affliction suffered by thousands of men, and can be a real source of insecurity and embarrassment for those not ready to lose their hair or shave their head. Even worse, and more devastating are the younger cases where the hair loss process begins long before a man even reaches his thirtieth birthday. So what are your options if you are one of these men, uncontrollably losing your hair before your time?

Well, you can do what many others do – shave your head for the sake of uniformity. Lots of men look great with a shaved head – it just fits their personality and style, and they seem comfortable that way. For those unwilling to give up on their hair, there are hairpieces or plugs, neither of which have been perfected to the point of being undetectable, and both having a societal stigma as being somewhat tacky and undesirable.

The other option, of course, is to try one of the hair loss products that several reputable manufacturers now offer, both in prescription and nonprescription form. While there is still no “magic pill” that can unflinchingly promise every man (and woman) who takes it will re-grow their hair, there are some very promising and effective hair loss products and treatments currently on the market and also in development.

Propecia, Rogaine (Monoxadil), Avacor and Proxiphen are just a few of the top prescription and nonprescription hair loss products on the market today, and they’ve all had varying degrees of success in re-growing their client’s hair. Since the demand for hair loss products is so great, there have been many non-prescription hair loss alternatives recently introduced in an effort to offer men (and women) a more economical and convenient alternative to re-grow hair and prevent further hair loss.

There are also several vitamins that have been specially formulated both for thinning hair and to promote the speedy growth of healthy, shiny hair. Vitamins for thinning hair and faster hair growth and re-growth are usually a varying combination of several key amino acids, biotin, vitamins B6 and E, and zinc. Many who take vitamins of this nature do report thicker, more lustrous and healthy hair, but if your goal is to actually re-grow hair and not just thicken thinning hair, then you would probably want to consider a more serious hair loss supplement or treatment that specifically targets balding and hair loss.

Here's a little tip to help stimulate hair growth – massage the scalp. This is an age-old hairstylist tip to help stimulate the hair follicles, unclog any blocked oil glands in the scalp, and help promote a healthy scalp and new, healthy hair growth. Plus, it’s relaxing and it feels good, so it’s not such a chore!

Hair loss supplements can range from pricey to reasonable, tested and untested, and clinically proven vs. not clinically proven. You have to use good judgment and do a little homework on the internet, or by reading consumer reviews, testimonials and surveys to see what really should work best for your situation. Some even offer money back guarantees or some sort or money back for unused portions.

Now, let’s talk about being proactive in preventing future hair loss. Many times, the underlying cause for premature hair loss and male pattern balding is hereditary, but it can also be brought on by a hormonal imbalance of the male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens. Correcting a hormonal imbalance many times can stop hair loss. This example can be seen in women who notice hair loss shortly after they’ve had a baby. The cause for this is a drop in hormones that kept much more hair on the head than normal during pregnancy because the levels of this hormone are unusually high at this time.

Some medications can also cause or aggravate hair loss. Typically these medications are blood thinners, gout medication, chemotherapy medications for cancer, too much vitamin A, birth control pills and antidepressants. Avoid tight or “pulling” hairstyles like high or tight ponytails and cornrows, and also stay away from harsh chemical treatments such as perms and other potentially volatile, damaging hair treatments.

Typical hair loss treatments, prescription and nonprescription, usually take about six months before you can tell they are working, so patience is a must. There is no overnight fix to hair loss unfortunately. As long as you are comfortable with your chosen hair loss remedy, and have planned a preventative and maintenance course of action, that’s really all that matters.

Recommend : Men's Rogaine Foam-Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment

Men's Rogaine Foam-Rogaine Hair Regrowth Treatment, 12/2.11 oz. cans (12 Month Supply)
Men's Rogaine is for men who have a general thinning of hair on the top of the scalp (vertex only). Not intended for frontal baldness or a receding hairline.

Medical student skeptic made a believer
My fiancee who didn't know I was using Rogaine for 3 months noticed that I started to regrow hair before I did. You have to be diligent about this stuff and not freak out if you notice you're losing hair early on during the rubbing needed for the application process. I'm going on my 5th month now and the results are well worth it. I like the foam too because it can also be used to style your hair.

been using for 2 years, works great, quick delivery
Swear by this stuff. Use it once a day to maintain hairline that was once mildly to moderately receeded.

American Crew Daily Shampoo, for Normal to Oily Hair & Scalp, 33.8-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) The only shampoo for me

I started using this shampoo over 10 years ago and have used none other since. The shampoo and conditioner are good quality products and I love the way it makes my hair feel.
Also to note, I'm not sure if it's all due to the shampoo, but before using this shampoo regularly, my hairline was beginning to receed and I was definitely thinning off the top more and more. But not since using this shampoo. I can honestly say that I have not had any further hairloss since I began using American Crew.
My little brother now has less hair than I do, ha ha.
I believe this product definitely contributes to the health of my hair. 5 Stars!
